Objective
VELNEC was responsible for the comprehensive oversight of the
Girón Penitentiary expansion project,
a correctional infrastructure project with significant social impact, aimed at improving detention conditions and strengthening the system’s operational capacity
Colombia’s prison system.
Scope
The expansion added capacity for 760 additional inmates across 55,000 m² of built area, while ensuring compliance with the highest standards of security, functionality, and habitability.
